Post Which Battery Charger to Buy?

Hi There, I have 2 6v Interstate deep-cycle batteries (SRM-24) and I want to make sure I get the correct battery charger. Any suggestions? Tkx!

This is what I have been using.

Not ideal if you are looking for a quick charge from empty but great for winter maintenance. Also great for mixing battery voltages. I have two 6 volt and one 12 volt. Maintains them all at once.

I use a genius 3500. Used it for my old pup(12v) and will be using it for my new 26bh(2-6v). Also used it for my old jeep when I wasn't using it. Good simple charger that seems to work.

I have four 6-volts. I used to pull my batteries and place them in garage and I'd use a "Battery Tender". I spoke with their tech support first and then the guy directed me to Amazon for the best prices. I needed on that would charge two 12-volts, in order to keep my four 6-volts float charging for the winter. You'd only need the one of course. You'll wire the two 6-volts in series and use a 12 volt tender. I also bought a smaller one that I use for the lawn mower battery over the winter. I just finished my 5th season on my 6-volts for the TT doing this and 4th on the lawn mower. Search Battery Tender on Google or Amazon and see what you come up with. Best of luck finding what works best for you.

Here is a link to the Amazon product offering. http://www.amazon.com/Deltran-Batter...ender+chargers

I use a product called "Battery MINDer" for keeping my (2) 6V Deep Cycle batteries charged when out of the TT (storage). I like the fact that this product also incorporates a 'Desulfator' mode.

BatteryMINDer: http://www.batteryminders.com/batter...er-desulfator/

When dry camping I use a Black & Decker VEC 1093 Smart Charger with my genny.

RVFANMT: Is your charger question asking what charger to use in the garage over the Winter?

I was just reading an article from Handy Bob Solar, recommended in another thread here. Bob recommended a charger that will get a battery up to 14.8v. I still have a long way to go in finishing the article, but it has some excellent information. It can be found at http://handybobsolar.wordpress.com/t...ging-puzzle-2/.

I have Bob on my phone & he is the reason I have Magnum Energy inverter/charger instead of the stock converter. His advice is true & your batteries will love you.

I no longer disconnect my batteries & bring them in for the Winter. I just make sure the water level is correct.

I will take a look at the Magnum. I will be replacing the charger I have after reading Bob's article. Thanks .
