Have other 19RD owners notice this one?

The spouts from the rain gutters on both sides of the trailer are centered over the doors to the pass-through storage.

When I opened the hatch in a light rain, yesterday, I got a face full of splatter.

Was somebody not considering all the details when this was designed?

It's not just the 19RD - I have the same issue with the White Hawk.

I agree someone wasn't thinking!

My 33RLDS does the same. I also have a 25% chance of the AC water doing the same..

Same and not near the gutters. Just ware the mask you have on in your sig.

I can also just twist and duck when opening the hatch when it is raining. Did that the following 3 times I needed stuff. It just surprised me the first time.

Besides, auto-darkening welding helmets do not take kindly to getting wet.

Try the push out window on the 23B right above the pass through door. I have smacked my head on that window almost every time I've camped. It could be me OR it could be a less than adequate design flaw. Agree with the gutters as well. Sorry for side-tracking your thread.

Same problem, but it's not just rain, the AC condensate gets me every time.

I've noticed the same problem. Seems with the TT level, the water flows to the front. Have to come up with an ingenious mod for this. Either that, or raise the tongue a little more.

Unfortunately, there's no other way around this and please the masses at the same time. If they're mounted away from the end storage units and back a little, what happens to the water forward of the spout? It'll drain down the sides of your unit and possibly compromise the storage unit weatherstrip. As far the doors? No way around it and please everyone. Not all doors are rearward or forward. Assuming that's how the alot are on different models. My entry door is in the middle of the trailer and the spouts don't affect it. They put them at all four corners (at least mine are) because it was the best possible place to please everyone. That way, the whole roof is covered, as far as water directed away. The main reason for putting the spouts on in the first place was to deter water from running down the sides of the unit and to direct it away from it. If they adjust them away from doors and storage, then it defeats the purpose of having them. Again, to repel roof water from the entire roof in the best possible way.

Then again, over the doors is just a plain and simple design error. They should've figured something else out in that regard.

I have the same problem with my TT. One fix that I've seen is to stick a length of clear vinyl tubing over the gutter spout and run the end of the tube to where it's not a problem.

Not sure of the best ID to get- looks like a 3/4" inner diameter tube would push onto mine about right. A 3 foot length would probably be about right to divert the water to the front or back of the TT.

That is a good idea. I have a 281BHS and get the same problem. I can't even leave the storage door up as water will percolate through the hinge and then into the storage compartment. Very annoying when it is raining.

I never leave it open. Mosquitos can find there way in and make it through the huge gaps next to the bed and end tables. That annoys me more than a bath I probably needed anyway..
