The temperature sensor provides the inside temperature measurement to the JayCommand System to control the heating and cooling. However, on my 27RB, it is not an attached part of the JayCommand System, it's a discrete, small black sensor located on an interior wall and wired into the JayCommand System.
It can be moved. However, to do so will require the skills of a good DIYer or the dealer. You'll need to lengthen the wires to the size required for the relocation and then reroute them to the new location. This is not usually easy but it can be done.
