I can have a max of 810lbs on hitch to stay in spec of truck weights,I would be getting a equalizer wd sway hitch thats around 60 lbs
max weight on trailer is 7500lbs so if fully loaded I would need to be at 10% max weight and that would be 750lbs on hitch , do you think this is doable with loading trailer with goods for 4 people plus hose's tool box ect,
dry weight 635 on hitch
thank's

Mike, you might want to consider visiting a CAT scale. I went through all this yesterday and it was an eye opener and learning experience. In the towing section of this forum, there is a procedure on how to weigh your TV/TT. Trust me you'll be glad you did. I sure was.
I was weighing our 197 for a prospective buyer. He was thinking his TV would tow it with no problems, I could not make the sale. His max tow capacity was 4500 lbs. I don't even know what his payload capacity was on his TV. Our 197 weighs 3890 lbs empty and tongue is 480lbs. Good thing I weighed the trailer before the sale, he would have been very unhappy.

just to estimate the dry weight is 5460. lets add 400 in options which will be handy= 5860. Add the minimum of 500lbs for personal stuff = 6360
Industry standard to have a good towing experience and avoid sway is 13 percent tw minimum.
TW IMO will be at 825lbs
at max weight 7500lb tw will be 975
10 percent is only used for low profile trailers and boats.

I think you will have a very difficult time staying under 810 lbs, and even more difficult staying under 750 lbs.
According to the fine print about weight in the WhiteHawks brochure, "dry hitch weight" doesn't include propane (bottles yes, gas no) or battery(ies).
So immediately you need to add ~80 lbs to the 635 to account for 40lbs of LP and 40lbs for a single Grp 24 battery...and more if you are looking for a dual battery set up.
Therefore before you added a single item of cargo you are at 715lbs +.

As a "ship weight" reference estimate/confirmation, two JOF members with a 2014 28DSBH reported that their TT's "yellow sticker" had a UVW of 5,943lbs and 6,0001lbs respectively......., and there is only 50lb delta between a 2014 and 2015 model. The 2014 had a published UVW of 5,455lbs.
I tend to agree with the thinking of the others, I don't see a loaded tongue weight under 850lbs on a 28DSBH with moderate loading.

I have discovered that my 27 DSRL is close to 1000 lbs on the hitch, which has put me about 100 lbs over my GVWR. I will take some stuff out of the front of the trailer and move it toward the rear.
This based on a recent CAT scale visit.
Generally the first weight to be concerned about in a 1/2 ton pickup is the payload.

Thats what is so confusing. It says 1210 lbs , different stickers give different # Thats why I was looking at the gross axle weights

1210 sounds about right
so with 850lbs leaves you with 360 lbs +150 usually for driver = 510 total for mammals and cargo.
How much over are you?
I am not saying to disregard weights and allowances but I am on the side of the fence that doesn't think you will have a catastrophic event if you go over payload by a few hundred pounds...
I just noticed on another thread a Tundra with a fifth wheel. The king pin is likely north of 1800 plus the 200 or so for the hitch. I have never seen payload on a Tundra over 1600. People do go over payload.
I know what I would do.

I think i would be 100 to 150 lb heavy on the hitch weight .
I do have timberns installed " helps level load when over loaded but when I use this I'm only driving a few miles around town with a pallet of mulch or sod in the truck " very heavy "
