White Hawk Insulation

Going to possibly pull the trigger on a 28dsbh tomorrow. The trailer on the dealer's lot has the 13.5 AC unit and no glacier package. Since we camp primarily in the SE where hot and humid weather is the norm during the summer, should I be concerned about the unit's ability to stay comfortably cool (70-72*) during the summer months?

We had a 26BH with 13.5 AC which was ok in South Carolina in the summer. Put 15 AC and glacier package on our new White Hawk, which with a slideout and 2 ft additional lenght has about 300 cu ft more to cool, I think it would be prudent to go with the bigger AC for use in the South.

I think AC is like the TV. You can't have too much truck.

We went with Glacier and 15K AC in the northeast as the cost is not that much more it just made sense. Not just for the heating/cooling factors but also noise I was told. We love our 28dsbh but haven't been out with it yet. Just picked it up 1 month ago.

I live in Tennessee and ordered mine with the Glacier Package and 15K AC. I agree with Redhorse1, you can't have too much AC. I met a guy last year who had a Forest River Surveyor at the dealer and he told me to get the 15K AC, in his words, "You won't regret it". His came with a 13.5K AC and he was back at the dealership getting the 15K installed at a cost of $1000. So I ordered mine with the 15K AC, it only costs $143 more when installed at the factory and the Glacier Package was only $179 more. Money well spend, IMHO.

I have both the glacier package and 15k AC on my White Hawk 30DSRE. I am in SC and it has been in the 80's, came back today and the TT was so cold inside I had to cut the AC off. I will be interested to see how it works during the 100's degree weather. IMHO I would not buy one without both of these.

camped in 100 F with the Eagle HT, 13.5K AC and Glacier package. The AC performed very well, thermostat was set at 73F and it cycled on and off as needed. In other words, the AC cooled the unit down enought it wasn't continuously on. Very happy with Glacier package. Worth the $

We ordered our 30DSRE yesterday with 15000 btu and glacier package. Here in So. Oregon it can get up tp 105 and most of us head for the coast where it is 65. Since we travel i needed an ultra lite as closeto 4 seasons as possible.
