White Hawk water heater

Hello, fellow travelers. I had a situation happen and wanted to know if anyone might help. I noticed the other day while walking around the outside of the camper a sound coming from the water heater. Id never heard that sound before so I started to investigate. What I found was the water heater switch on the control panel inside had been accidentally turned to ON. It has been sitting there in the ON position for some time. Have I done any harm to the water heater? If so, what might that be? Thanks in advance for any help!

Is it electric? Was the water heater tank full of water?

If it was electric and empty you may have zapped the element.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, its electric and no there was no water in it. So, you are probably right. I fried the heater element. Is this a replacable part on my end or a dealership fix. I am very capable.

It's a fairly easy job if you have clear access to the back of the water heater but you're gonna need something like this or just a regular socket will work as well. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Profess.../dp/B00361V162

Thank you TCNashville. I'll be ordering this socket today and of coarse the element as well.
