Who's Checked On Their Camper?

Man my Eagle is sitting right next to my house covered. I usually like to check the inside every now and then. But with this cold and snow we have, just can't find the time to get in there. This was my first winterizing of this trailer, so maybe this weekend I'll get into her. How many of you check on yours or have checked it. I also like to check that no unwanted guests took up residency. What else do you check for.

I check mine almost daily. We have a remote thermometer to keep track of inside temps and I keep a dehumidifier running & have to dump it every time it is full. Alps it is a good man cave.

I keep mine in my cold storage building. I've been in it a few times primarily to be certain rodents aren't a problem, but I keep glue boards etc outside the trailer in my building. I've noticed RV antifreeze on the floor outside the trailer, below the water heater & the low water drain by the door. I figure I didn't tighten things up enough, which I have to mitigate, but I'm not concerned. I will be pulling it from northern Minnesota to Las Vegas for the month of March, de-winterize when I get there & have to winterize again prior to departing for the return to the Midwest. I find just going into it for a few moments to be a mental vacation.

I go into ours periodically since we use some items stored in it during the winter. I also like to check on the critters, which we have not had any.

Being right next to the S&B is also a very good thing.

Ours is at a storage facility. I checked it about 3 weeks ago....time for me to make another visit.

It's just so sad leaving it behind when I leave.

So I get what your saying Zorbaa, I find just going in the camper even for alittle while very relaxing and almost never wanna leave. I like going out during a rain storm during the summer checking things out of course. But then just hanging out in it for alittle while listening to the rain. I mind wonder then and think how cool it is to have somthing like this when my family wants to get away. To not only protect us from the elements, but is so cool to hang out in. Norty1 was wondering where you live that you get so much water in your dehumidifier, does anyone else do that. Here in NY it is cold during the winter and the air is dry, did not think we had to worry about that, till spring. Lucky mine is next to the house I have had a trailer there since 2007 well campers anyway. I live in a village so not many if any animals around and my niehbor has cats so they roam all over. And of course under the camper is a big dry spot so they hang out under it sometimes. I always got worried they would try to get in or crawl up some where but they dont. Man I sure do miss camping. We dont have anything planned this year. Its our Florida trip year to see my parents and they got a house. So I dont pull the camper down there. Will still do some long weekends from a friday to a tuesday just not sure when. I know allot of people go from a friday to a sunday but I like to have alittle more time. I also put some LED bulbs in my camper got them from campers world plug right into existing bulb socket. Bought different ones some with four leds on them for the reading lights in the bedrooms and the others have 9 or 12 leds on them. They are bright and a white kind of light. Deffinately different, Some bulbs I replace back with the oli style bulb, I liked the light from them better. The leds dont get as hot and I like them for the outside light and the outside kitchen light. Well I babbled enough, cant wait to check on the inside of our camper this weekend. Suppose to warm up alittle yay. And it Superbowl Sunday cool.

Mine is in storage a few miles away. I check on it at least every other week. A couple weeks ago, we went and picked it up and brought it home to sit in the driveway for a couple days just because we missed seeing it, then put it back in storage...

I was in ours yesterday, parked on the side of our home in it's RV port, to get my DD shoes. We lived in our TT over the holidays for 2 weeks while we had guests in our home. I guess I forgot to bring the shoes back into the house. Oh well at least I knew where they were. LOL. Love to have our Eagle parked there.

this is the last i saw it as i was putting it away for the winter.. as much as i wish it was closer to home, glad to have a place out of the snow and ice for it.. and we'll have to see if i left enough critter deterrent around it to keep out all the unwanted guests..

Ours is next to house as well. Out the backdoor, across the patio and into the camper. Recently got around to putting dryer sheets in. Don't THINK we will have problems with rodents with it being so close to the house but don't tell that to the family of squirrels I had in my attic. We had a popup at the back of the yard next to storage shed for years without a problem. Then, after on severe winter, wow!! Did the rodents (chipmunks, I think) have a field day. Made a mess of thinks, had to get rid of it. But on to the Hybrid. Hoping to crank the heat some weekend and go turtleing with the wife. Gonna have to buy a splitter and run a cable line to it. Have it plug in to extension for light.

Well I got in my camper today, was able to walk trough the whole thing. It looks good, I'm glad to see. I keep dryer sheets in ours also. Blamb97 that is so cool you have that metal building to keep your camper in. Mine is covered but I would love to have something like that to back it into. This is a tough cold winter so far. Would love to spend the night in our camper. Does anyone else sleep in there camper during the winter
