GVWR is 6500 lb
front GAWR is 3450, rear is 3300

Isn't that enough to pull the unit ?

Won't a f250 have much more in this regard, by default ? Or will I have to add a package ?

I bought my 28bhs 11/14/20, had a 2018 f150 with max tow and 1720 in payload. I use a equalizer e4. I had very little sway, but I had a lot of porpoising…..my f150 was the 3.5EB (love that engine). Had plenty of power…. My main issue was I just did not have enough payload, my 28bhs lightly loaded sits around 920 tongue weight. Add that to people and stuff you put in bed of truck and I was at or over by a small amount of payload.

I traded up to a f250 6.2 and wow the difference is amazing. No more porpoising, any sway I may have had is gone. I will say that I prefer the 3.5 engine over the 6.2… power to weight of truck ratio was way better with f150. The 6.2 can handle it just fine though.

Ymmv.

Are those the weights shown on your vehicle label inside your driver’s door? The rear axle usually has a higher rating than the front.

Then they need to be compared to the actual scale weights of your truck before any suggestions can be made or discussed.

My first tt was sold to me by a dealer who said "Yeah, the F-150 will pull anything." I had a 2007 F-150 regular cab short bed 4.2L 5-speed. The Jayco 185RB weighed 3100lbs dry, 3600 max. The tow rating of this vehicle is 2400 lbs. that is all. It struggled to make 65 mph in 4th, had to run in 3rd a lot of the time. That sticker to which you refer is irrelevant to weight being pulled, frontal area or grade. That is why there are towing guides and ratings (standards). The BEST 2.7EB with3.73 axle is only good for 8,300 lbs in SCrew form.

I addition to what’s been mentioned, look over the trailering capacity chart. The 3.5 ecoboost actually offers higher towing and hauling limits than the V8. You will also want to consider the longer wheelbase that comes with a 6’6” bed. That will also increase the capability, but not by much. What it will do is offer more stability.

Finally remember that weight limit was mostly done with flat steel panels below the tailgate height. TT are the worst things to tow. It’s a big old sail without any aerodynamic properties.

Does the F-150 with the Tow Package come with Tow Mirrors? A Ford saleswoman told me that if I wanted Tow Mirrors I would have to get a 250 Super Duty.

NEVER trust a salesperson, male, female or anyone relatively close or in between. Tow mirrors are available on F-150 since before the beginning of time. Extra cost option...

I significantly reduced the rebound with a full set of Bilstein shocks on our F150. A major improvement that even impressed the service tech. He has them on his now.

My 2015 F150 blew the factory shocks out at 11k miles. Took one off and to the dealer, was advised "not under warranty" because it hadn't leaked fluid. Bought KYBs for a 2014 (they fit) and stopped 'the bounce'.

There are things you can do to prevent "having" to buy a bigger tow vehicle.
If someone here "tells" you to buy a different vehicle and you haven't explored all possibilities, then what?
This conversation should have started BEFORE the selection of your tt.
And answering a question for you is not the same as addressing it, which several here have done.
YOU need to make that decision, not someone here.

You will likely need to factory order. They are not included with any of the three “tow packages” available for 2021. The blind spot detector will reach back further to cover most of your TT once set up. Also consider the 36 gallon tank. Getting 300 miles before fueling up is handy on long road days.

The link I posted is to the Ford brochure for towing. I went with the 17T and 53A packages then added the 36 gallon tank and 3.55 rear axel ratio electronically locking.

As has been requested a few times now, you need the payload sticker from your truck's door jamb (yellow and white sticker that will have language similar to, "Occupants and cargo should never exceed _____ lbs."

In the world of recreational vehicles, a tow vehicle will run out of payload long before the other ratings. Payload is just a proxy for your vehicles GVWR.

An F-150 with a Max Tow package doesn't increase your payload. It may increase the worthless, marketing Tow Capacity number. It doesn't help, though, in how much you can really tow. It may add features to make that towing experience more pleasant.

In the end, all "how much can I tow?/can I tow this trailer?" questions begin with payload of the specific tow vehicle. You just can't have much of a conversation without that number.

My experience on various RV forums is that when someone is engaged in a "how much can I tow?" type question, has been asked for his truck's payload a few times, and after multiple pages of conversing there is still no disclosed payload number ... there's a reason.

1,447 is the number for : "Load and occupants should never exceed"

THIS is why you 'scale' your rig. Simple math...1,447 MINUS 890 (tongue weight from mfg.) MINUS 375 (two average adult pssgrs and a dog) equals 182. That is what your truck will haul and DOES NOT INCLUDE wd hitch. You have 90 to 100 lbs TOTAL weight cap on the tv with ZERO-NADA-NOTHING in the tt.
