Wind sensor for a electric awning

Just wanted to drop a line to everyone and let them know that the wind sensor I had installed in my carefree electric awning does work. I had a thunderstorm come through today and the wind picked up to about 20mph and the awning started to shake and the next thing I know it rolled up on its own. Looks like it might be a wise investment after all. For more info go on carefree of colorado and look under acc. This viberation sensor is a carefree product.

Thanx for the info. Was thinking about getting one. Just have to find out what the dealer will charge to install it .

I was told that our "flat pitch" awning can't be hooked up with that sensor, but we didn't verify that with Carefree. Glad to hear yours works well

Never take no for a answer. I was also told , by my dealer, that it would not work on my carefree traveler awning. I made my dealer get on the internet while I was there and they agreed there was a working vibration sensor for my awning. When they contacted Carefree they were told they did not offer a sensor for my awning. My dealer told them what I found on the internet and after a little talking they were told there was a device that Carefree had that would help prevent wind damage. The device cost $98.00 and cost me 2 hours labor by my dealer($100 per hr.)
