Window Blinds - how to adjust?

Feeling half stupid for asking, but what's the trick for opening/closing/adjusting the window blinds on a 2018 Jay Flight SLX (mine is the 267BHSW)? They're dark colored cellular blinds, and the strings are each fixed to a small round bracket thing screwed to the wall and it looks like you have to remove the screws and brackets just to adjust? Can't find anything on it in the manual. Thanks for any help.

Just push up to open them and pull down to close.

They just slide up and down. We have the two part ones with night and sun shades. They are stiff to move and if you move them unevenly the clear plastic spools at the bottom will break. At least that's what ours has and I broke them. Had to loop the string around the spool, was hooked on little cutouts in the plastic.

Thanks. Looks like I was, not surprisingly, overthinking things a bit . . . Was expecting mechanisms like house blinds.

If the plastic spool breaks, you can use a sewing bobbin as a handy substitute.

If yours are day/ night shades, remember to move them separately not together. If they are to tight they can be loosened by loosening the screw that holds the spool enough to let a little slack in the cords. If they are so loose that they won't stay up, just use the same procedure to tighten the side string enough to allow them to operate properly. Both sides should be about the same tension.

The best part is when they break the string. I have one I have to restring right now. Bought the string but haven't tackled it yet.

There are a good many threads on JOF and some you tube videos also.

Main thing is don't pull the broken cord out. I have had good success fusing the old cord at the break to the new nylon cord by heating both with a match and joining them, then carefully pull the new cord thru the million holes it goes thru.
Of course the blind has to be removed and laying flat on a work area.

I've just pulled the string down and looped it around the spool rather than through the holes on the edge of it. I think half of them have broken and required this.

Looks like I don't have the day-night shades, just single dark cellulars. Guess that should mean it works simpler than the day-night ones.

Rig's in the shop getting the slide looked at right now so will try out my new-found knowledge on the blinds when I get it back.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I did the same thing. I was looking for some type of lever. [emoji28]
