Winntec 6020 Regulator

I was changing out both pigtails that went to my propane regulator. One of the pigtails has a spring, a small o ring and small bb type steel ball in it where it screws onto the regulator. I didn’t notice this In the first pigtail I removed. I have no idea what the spring and bb is for or the sequence to put it back. Any suggestions? Will it hurt to leave it out?

Winntec 6020 issue, too!

I am having the same issue. The pigtail started leaking at the propane tank. I took the pigtail off, went to a propane dealer (not RV dealer) and bought a new pigtail and brass nipple to connect pigtail to regulator. I, too, noticed the screen, spring and BB in the pigtail that I took off. I also ask, are these reverse flow pieces necessary? Did you ever get an answer to your question?

That's a safety valve device that shuts the gas flow off if there's a major leak. It's the same valve that gives folks grief when they turn the propane valve on too quickly.
