Winter camping

We just installed the Camco heated drinking water hose. What steps should we be taking, if any, to protect the water filter? Any help with this issue would be appreciated! Thank you!

Recent experience in Bend, OR. It was 22 degrees just one night. I disconnected and drained the unheated hose but left it outside. The blue inline water filter (Camco?) was attached to the hose. The trapped water in the filter froze, cracking the filter body. I didn't know that until I hooked everything back up and turned on the water. A gushing leak! All that to say with my limited experience, I'd wrap the water filter with some good insulation, or remove it and put it inside your trailer.

We camp down in the low 20 frequently. My recommendation, drain the hose, coil it up and put it and the filter in your cargo hold (closed up).
