winterize filter question

I'm about to winterize my Jayco 31RKS for the first time. I have a small inline filter under the sink. If I take it out, I will have to make a short line to replace it. Is it ok just to leave it in place while running the pink stuff through it? Since we have used it a lot this last season, I plan on replacing the filter in the spring anyway.
Thoughts?

You can make a hose to replace the filter easy enough or just be sure to replace the filter before next use.

If you run the pink stuff through it - then head to RV store to buy new filter. It will be toast! I unscrew it, drain piping, install 1/2 plug where filter was and pump pink stuff. When dewinterize, I remove plug and drain pink stuff.

When I bought my Jayco in 07, I received a plastic pipe that I used when I took my filter off. I have a couple of new filters but have never used them as I leave my plastic pipe in place and buy drinking water and all other water used is usually boiled.

You can buy a toilet hose in any hardware store in variuos lengths if you don't have the bypass line. Just make sure you get the right length and connection ends. Most likely a 15" hose with hose connections on the ends. Double check before buying though you might need to get something longer with the 2 female ends to make it to the faucet connections. Don't know if the make one with female and male ends on it or two male ends like the filter.
Otherwise if you do the filter it's done once you do it and leave yourself a reminder to change it next year.

That hose was with the rig when purchased.

My 5th came with the replacement hose that I used when I winterized the first winter. I took the filter off and threw it away and bought replacement filters. I have not used these filters and leave the hose in place as I drink bottled water and the water in my tank is used for washing and if I need it for cooking or tea and coffee, it is boiled.

Our new filter is still in the box. For drinking and cooking we use bottled water. I have a filter system outside and also an RO system for really bad water.
