Winterizing black tank

Do y'all leave a little water in black tank and do you put deodorizer and anti-freeze in black tank for winter?

After thoroughly cleaning out the black and grey tanks, I leave them empty except for the little bit of antifreeze that gets in there when running anti freeze thru the plumbing.

I also rub silicone around the rubber seal on the toilet flush valve. Then leave a little antifreeze sit in the toilet bowl all winter.

This may be a dumb question, but what type of silicone? I assume you don’t mean caulk or spray lube?? Does the pink AF stain the plastic bowl sitting all winter? My first year wintering. Thanks!

I use the silicone that you put around rubber O-rings.
I have never had the antifreeze leave any stains in my toilet bowel. I put about 3 inches of antifreeze in that and it is still at that level in the spring.

Our toilet wasn't holding water so I just used the Vaseline that was in the cupboard. Two years later it's still holding and it's getting used because we're living in it during remodeling.
