winterizing toilet

any recommendations for winterizing the toilet. I just put some rv antifreeze in it but really would hate for that to be bad for the seal.

make sure you either have red in the line to the toilet or have blown all the water out of the line.

I blow out the water, pump red through and blow it out again.

The water in line needs to be winterized; I recommend antifreeze rather than just air, as I did just air once in a rush to beat a hard freeze, and the water valve on the toilet retained enough water to crack.
As for the waste side seal, I've done everything from the olive/cooking oil to antifreze to nothing and haven't' noticed a difference in the come the next spring. Don't use anything petroleum based. My current method is just leaving a about a half inch of pink juice on there.
I haven't noticed any permanent staining from the antifreeze I use. It does take a few flushed to get the pink residue off the wiper valve in the spring.

Use some O ring lube before you pour the pink stuff in > Amazon or a pool place sells it

Definitely blow/remove as much as possible out of the toilet valve, first time I winterized my GH, next spring I had a leak there. Not a hard fix, but it's easier to clear the water out. I use the blow the water out method, just hold the flush valve open long enough to where it doesn't sputter/spit, just the sound of air coming out.
