Wiring mess
Is this normal? I was looking under my QB212 the other day and couldn't believe all the electrical wires just hanging out, and some were tie strapped to a water line. A little wire loom would have been nice. See pic.

Unfortunately it is. Over time you will come across worse on your unit when removing panels.

It takes me an average of three seasons to rebuild / repair a new trailer to what I consider acceptable and reliable. But that is part of the joy I get from owning a trailer. Get it right during the week and camp on weekends and summer vacations.

This is what I discovered while chasing an electrical problem. This is behind my power distribution box. I didn't even know where to start to untangle that mess...

That actually looks like a clean and organized "Jayco" wiring job. I've seen a lot worse, like the pic Marcm157 just posted.

We have taken several factory tours- different brands. The wiring is hilarious. It looks like they shot it out of a canon.

Yep, looks pretty typical.....what I found disturbing is when I found these 2 uncapped, poorly twisted together connections under our bed laying inches from a metallic foil heat duct.

Definitely a short waiting to happen. Hard to believe they would send something out the door like that. I don't think they have any quality control people.

I would straighten that out. Looks like it is in contact with the axle. Not a good situation. Take your time and clean it up.
I came across this. Took a few hours. But, turned out well.

Think of it as an opportunity to buy new man-tools! Quality crimping tools, crimp connectors, looming, multimeter, shrink tube, etc. Every project is better with the prospect of new tools!

Yup. It's nearly criminal to see what manufacturers can get away with in the industry. It's a fascinating study of supply and demand.
I haven't tackled the rats nest behind the power center yet but I have managed to take care of the wiring mess on the front frame and at the brakes.
