Wobble in the dinette table

Hey all,

I have a bit of instability in the dining room table. All the fittings are tight, but it just seems that the pole isn't a real tight fit into the base. It's more of an annoyance more than anything and I was wondering if anyone had some ideas to reduce the wiggle. Thanks.

David

This is a problem typical of the pedestal type table. The only idea I have is to buy a pair of folding table legs and install them in lieu of the pedestal.

On my 1st outing with our new to us 07 27BH the table wobbled really badly. I leaned on it the 1st night and one of the mounts in the floor broke and the leg went through the floor. After a closer inspection the other mount in the floor was already cracked. I replaced both and it made a big difference in the amount of wobble. It is not as steady as a table with 4 legs or one that is attached to the wall but it is much better.

The mounts cracked right at the transition from the trim ring into the well for the leg. I should have taken a few picks.

rockypointers--I found that my bases were coming loose, screws popping, out so I rotated the bases a little and reattached. I believe the cause is traveling with the table in the "up" position allowing it to move/ vibrate. Now my table is in the "down" position when traveling. Larry

McFarmall's folding legs idea sounds like a good one. DW pulled a bit too hard on the table's extension and the pedastal came right out. I moved it just a tad and screwed it back in. Longer screws aren't an option as the table is on the slide. If it pulls out again I'll be attaching those legs.

I had the same problem. I used a leg from an old folding chair and hamered the two end flat and used the screw at the window and on the bottom of table to keep it still. it worked. I don't use the dinette for a bed.
