x17z - ipod and iphone audio

hello,

I just bought a 2014 x17z travel trailer and was trying to use the iRV audio deck that came with the unit.
I noticed one of the menu options is IPOD. Another is USB.

I tried to connect my iPhone 5s to the usb plug with the iphone's cable, but it will not charge nor will it play music. On the screen, once plugged in, the screen changes to USB PLAY, then ERROR 4.

I cannot find any documentation on this. Has anyone else got their iphone to work via the USB port? (and charge)

Going to throw an educated guess out there without knowing your system, but most likely the USB port is for accepting a USB stick loaded with mp3 files (music/audio).. Your phone won't connect via USB, only through the headphone jack and audio cable. And you are also correct that it won't charge your phone.
