1207 storage mod

so i love trying to find new ways to do things or just make them better than Jayco will do

the 1207 has plenty of storage but i have found three places that they are wasting space. my first mod on my 2014 was going to be the U shaped dinette storage in the middle( there is none). so i wanted to move the front kick plate out to the edge of the middle cushion and make a storage area for all the dishes. So three hours of my time and a total of $12 and shes is done and perfect.

Nice job. There always seems to be little cubbies we can use for misc. storage. Hate to see any wasted space in a TT.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

That's quite handy. I wish I'd have thought of that when we had our 2005 1207.

Always interesting to see what people do to get more storage. We are the proud and very recent new owners of a used 2007 1207. I'll have to take pictures and post them, but I can describe what we did with this space.

On the left is a 3-drawer office organizer that I use to keep various supplies in, like pens and paper, tape; small repair items like fuses and light bulbs, hooks, and velcro.

In the middle section I bought a rack that is intended for creating an extra shelf in a kitchen cabinet. That provides enough space for 4 pairs of shoes. 2 pairs on the bottom and 2 on top.

To the right are 2 shoebox-sized boxes that contain tools in one and our "open me first" box that has many of the things we need to get our hands on when we first set up.

Maybe we'll find a better use as time goes on, but for now I like how accessible the items are that I've put there.

Attached is the picture of what we did with this space. Drawers on the left. Two-tier shoe rack in the middle. Sometimes we put skillets or bowls there. And two plastic "shoe-box" sized containers stacked on top of each other on the right.
