2016 10SD Bed Weight

Howdy Everyone!

I've got my 2017 10SD and I have a question about the bed weight. The specifications show 1,050lbs for each bed, and while I know that's a lot of weight, how in the world can a 1/2" of plywood with no center support (other than the off center poles you install) hold that much weight?!

I'm only asking cause we're in year two of this camper, and my wife noticed while I was laying on the bed that it was bowing real bad in the center (when she was turning on the propane). Now it's got me all worried that it's going to collapse on me, even though the wood is dry and looks like it was just purchased from Lowes yesterday and installed.

That's how the beds have always been built on the pups.

Go to page 9 of this brochure from 05.

I have a 14HW so it's not identical but it has a "ring" that comes off the frame of the unit and across the front near the center of the bed, which is then supported down to the hitch. And then there are also 2 off-center supports also down to the hitch. Page 9 of that brochure shows 4 bars down to the frame; are you missing the center bars/ring?
