I had never seen a new StarCraft popup until last month at the Milwaukee RV show, the 2016 Jayco 1007UD is identical to the 2016 Starcraft popup with the exception of exterior body colors. You might consider purchasing a new 2015 Jayco popup, I do believe that you'll appreciate the quality and the pricing might be in your favor because it is a new one-year old unit.

Knowing what I know about the 2016 jayco's, I would look for a 2015 model or even a 2014 if you could find one. You would be buying one of the last great pop-up;s. (IMO) Jayco has been making great camper, but I think times are changing for the pop-up market. I am very happy that I bought a new pop-up last summer, the camper is awesome. I look at it and think I got one of the last great pop-up's

At least i got confirmation the a number of jayco models are being built at the Starcraft plant in Topeka, In from a response from an email to jayco. If i buy, it will be a 2015, jayco, not a 2016 jaycocraft

"Yes the Jayco and Starcraft camping trailer models have been manufactured in Topeka by a joint effort of Starcraft & Jayco personnel for the past year, but there are plans being discussed that may separate them again in the near future."

2016 pop-up changes drastic to 1007

saw floor plan of 2016 1007. Yikes! From what I can see on plan and photos Much smaller - Queen and full instead of King and double, no u-shaped dinette, no cutlery drawer, no under-sink storage, slanted floor sections in front of bunks. 2016 JAYCO JAY SERIES 1007UD

The wife and I made a trip to our RV dealer today to purchase a furnace vent screen and we had another opportunity to walk through the 2016 1007UD, we are thrilled that we purchased the 2015 1007UD instead.

Micamperdad-- I was always under the impression that Jayco had a system that pushed the top up with springs and not the "pully lift system". Larry

2016 vs 2015 Jayco Pop up?

We are considering buying a 2016 Jay series sport 10SD. But after reading some of the posts here, we are concerned that we're getting an inferior quality pop up that just has the jayco name on it. We'd appreciate any advice.

Kristaltimm, you can go with the Sport 10 SD, but you might try to track down a new 2015 version instead of the 2016. Sadly, the construction changes are striking, we are thrilled that we did not purchase the 2016 model.
