Alternate Site for 2nd Battery?
I dont have room on the trailer tongue for a second battery. Has anyone stored a second battery in the forward storage area? Any other ideas to have 2X batteries?

That is where they used to be located a few years ago in fifth wheels. As long as the cable size is adequate and the area is vented/ separated from the other junk in there, I see no reason why not.
Just remember some trailers are vented to the storage area thru the step risers. Could be a safety issue due to fumes.

I ended up making a bracket out of two pieces of angle iron and mounted my batteries "outboard", parallel to the A-frame. The pieces of angle iron run all the way across, under the frame, from one side to the other.
The area inside the A-frame, where the batteries used to be located, now houses a disconnect switch, buss bars, solar controller, and battery monitor/shunt. This change also allows me to install golf cart batteries when my 12V batteries die.

On my OFF-ROAD POPUP I am able to mount a very large battery box on top of my two tongue frames.... You can see in this photo where I have three batteries installed. I first had four GP24 12VDC Interstate batteries installed here but one went bad on me...
I can add more angle pieces and extend way out on top of the trailer frame.
I am currently working on a 72-inch battery box that will fit inside the two angles you can see here already welded in-place on top of the two main tongue frame...
Pass along you POPUP trailer model and let us look at it... Maybe I missed it...

Rod,
Well that leaves the extended angle iron out as the truck would hit the batteries in a sharp turn. Do you know a welder that would help? If so build the extended frame like RoyBraddy did (where your tanks are now) and move the tanks forward to where the batteries currently are. Sounds like a major project, but is should take a welder an hour or so to change it out for you. As for the LP tank hose you can get a longer one

It looks to me like you could still do the angle iron thing, no need to mount them parallel as I did. Each battery would hang over about half way, which should still clear the truck. You could also do what mustang suggested and swap the tanks/battery positions.

X2 on swapping the propane tank location with the battery bank mounting...
google image
Looks like from this photo from google search you should have plenty of room to do this.
One item is however that the front storage area has a slope on the front. You may want to move the battery bank abit away from this so that you can open a lid if you go with a metal box of some sort. The 48-inch side mount truck tool box might be a good project for you to do for four-each GC2 6VDC batteries that would give you alot of AHs to work with with...
My propane tank is just inches away from the front jack assy and does not hamper any of its operations...
Make some measurements and see if all of this would fit for you...
Here is a photo of the 48-inch truck side mount tool box. I have been involved with a couple of these being used for GC2 6VDC batteries. Two groups of these 6VDC GC2 batteries wired in series will give you a good 440AHs of batteries power.

Anyone overthinking this?! I keep my second marine battery in a plastic container IN my trailer (adequately braced obviously), move it outside while camped and replace the first battery when needed. I know mods are fun and efficient - but c'mon people, one needn't put a saddle on a sow!

I suppose if one was just going out for few days every now and then making it simple would be great.
In my case my OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer is serving two things for me. It is mobile Radio Comms unit for my emergency radio comms nets that I have been involved with for many years...
Then I also use all of this for camping off-grid at various places up and down the Blue ridge parkway and high county in VA-TN-NC-GA-AL and sometimes stay out for a couple of weeks.. I need it to be ready to go when I go on alerts for Radio nets and when I want to go camping off the grid...
I even use my POPUP for emergency power here at the house when the local power grid goes down... I can run all kinds of thing off my battery bank and recharge the next morning using my 2KW generator. Can last a long doing this as long as I have gasoline to run my generator.
Just saying ...
We all have our needs haha...

To me pulling 65lb batteries is going to make my vertebras feel a lot worse than the already feel. To me taking the battery in an out of the truck would get old pretty fast.

But mounting the second battery under the hood of the truck might be an option.
