Hi, checked the wiring at the tongue. There is a white wire that is grounded
to the frame, and a red wire that runs t the back but has a "y" n it. My vehicle is wired a four pin plug. these to wires look like a thicker gauge. my trailer does run on ac, and looks like it has a converter.

IF your trailer runs on 110VAC then you do have a converter for the 12VDC circuits, but it may not be one that charges your battery (may only supply 12VDC to run your things). See if you can locate the mfr/model of the converter and check the specifications.

Don

I do not think that Jayco would install a converter only, but check anyway.

Not having a working battery system on the trailer equipped with electric brakes when being pulled over state roads is breaking the law and might go against your insurance claim if you have property damage or worse if the run-away trailer causes the damages..

Check with your local DOT guys or STATE SAFETY INSPECTION places. Most states have a weight size requirement for the trailers to be equipped with brakes. Also most states have a required safety inspection as well...

Just saying...thanks for your help

Hi found the red and white wire, the red one is near tongue, the
white one is under the trailer by the converter. it is bolted to the frame.
I was wondering if I can just ground the battery to the frame.

Yes, ground directly to the frame. Be sure you remove paint from the point where you make the connection. It is important to have a clean connection for a good ground.

I am just curious, can you look under the trailer and let us know if your wheel assemblies have wires coming out of them.

Thanks

Don
