Battery tender recommendation
I put the camper up for the winter this last weekend. Spring can’t get here soon enough. I brought the battery inside the house but am unsure about what type of tender I should have it hooked up to. Does anyone have a recommendation? There are so many options online and I haven’t been able to discern the differences between them. Thanks!

I prefer the BatteryMinder brand, check the water levels, hook it up and pretty much forget it. Have never boiled any battery dry, use 'em on the 4 batteries in my boat and the one in the TT.

Welcome to the forum.
I can't help with a tender choice, but I do have a CAUTION when you reinstall your battery! BE SURE THE BATTERY '-' GOES TO THE FRAME!
If you even TOUCH the cables backward (many folks do!) it will blow the reverse polarity fuses.

X2 on Battery Tender, manufactured by Deltran.
I remove the battery from the TT and store it in my garage for the winter. plugged in to the Battery Tender.

I have a Group 27 and use a Battery Tender Junior and it kept my battery at 100% over the winter. I left it for 4 months and water still at 100%, no change at all.

What about a trickle charger that has an automatic "float charging" mode, would that work OK for winter storage?

Batteries
I change mine fully and about once per month thereafter. Never had a issue. Always get long life from my batteries.

I have a battery for my lawn tractor and thought I would pick up a cheapo from Harbor Freight to keep it going over the winter..
After a couple of days it settled down to 14.3 volts. My Battery Tender Jr. sat at 13.2 on my Group 27 deep discharge house battery.
Checked the Harbor Freight instructions and it said 13.2. Switched them around and still got 14.3.
I took the Harbor Freight one back and got a different one. It is running at 13.3. For the much more expensive house battery I will stick with the Jr. and only use the cheapo on my tractor battery.

battery tender vs just charging battery
thoughts ...
is it better to use a battery tender over the winter or just give it a good charge before putting it away in a somewhat warm location (garage)? I've been told to do it both ways.
or do you use the battery tender with the battery outside still attached to camper?

I am a believer in the Battery Tenders as well. I own 7 of them. 6 of the Jr and 1 full size one. Big one is 1.25A and Jr is 0.75A. The full size one is used for my 2X Trojan 6V (wired in series) and the Jr's are used for quads, lawn tractor, and even one for my remote start Champion generator battery. I generally remove batteries from machines before they go into the barn for winter storage, and I bring the batteries into an insulated tool room off my garage which rarely sees freezing temps. I have had no battery problems in years doing it this way.
