Best popup power converter?

Hello,

I have a 1998 Heritage Rushmore 1204. The Centurion converter died a couple of years ago and i replaced it with a WFCO WF-8725. So far I haven't had any luck getting battery power out of the converter. Works perfect on shore power. Any way I want to replace the 8725.

What is everybody using?

Thanks!

Sean

I had the same issues with the Power Converter in my 2008 POPUP trailer that would never go into SMART MODE charging. The WFCO's are prone in not doing the smart mode charging...

I replaced my WF8945 Power Converter with a Progressive Dynamics model PD9260C 60 AMPS Smart mode Converter/Charger unit... This has worked just fine for my large Battery Bank without any issues...

I think if you will search the internet here you will find the same problems others are having with the WFCO products of never going into SMART Charging modes. I tried everything I could think of and the most I could ever get the WF8945 to go into Boost Charging was around 20-30 Seconds and then it would switch back to its 13.6 Normal charge mode.. The PD9260A for me will go to any of its four charging modes with the simple push of the button on the remote control module.

Seems like the manufacture folks keep putting the WFCO Products in their models for sale... I must be missing something somewhere hehe...

I was able to keep the WFCO Power Distribution Setup for the 120VAC and 12VDC circuits. I mounted my PD9260C standalone as close to my battery bank as I could get and still be inside my trailer compartment but the specs say it would have fit in the same bottom compartment the WF-8945 Panel has...

BEST CONVERTERS would be a great place to check-in with for your Converter needs...

Yes, go to Progressive Dynamics. Good quality and warranties.

PD’s Charge Wizard is a neat thing. We added a PD converter a year ago and it works well. I wish I had known about them in my pop up days...
