Brakes

Hi
Our van is over weight to tow without brakes. How do we go about adding them to van? Ideas on how this is done would be good to know before we go to a mechanic.
Thanks.

That would probably require new axles that have brakes and drums already installed on them. Usually, non-brake axles don't have a provision to add then afterwards.

Thanks.

More info plz,

Does your popup currently have brakes, but you have no brake controller to operate them in your van? Relatively easy.

As JFR stated, if your P-up axle is without brakes they usually can be added by welding on a flange or completely swapping out the axle and adding wiring. Rather involved.
