cable size?

Anyone know the correct lifting cable size for a 1989 Model 1006 Deluxe? I have an old (unknown model) parts list that shows a 1/8" cable but that looks to be too big for the slots in the slugs on mine. Looks like the previous owner used 3/32" cables. Just want to make sure before I buy all the parts.

Try calling Jayco. We started out in a popup with 4 broken cables. We called the manufacturer who sent us a schematic and parts list. We bought what we needed to from a local dealer, but we bought the cables and a crimper at Lowes which was much cheaper. Hope this helps!

I should also say we purchased stabilizers that slipped over the lift arms that helped hold the roof up in case the cables broke again. We never had any problems but it was nice to have the stabilizers anyway.

I finally found the right person at a local Jayco distributor. He said that the correct cable is 3/32". That appears to be compatible with the slugs and pulleys. I am modifying my pop-up to eliminate all the canvas and outrigger beds and using lightweight portable hard walls. The walls will be installed in a manner that will support the roof and take the load off the cables when the roof is raised.
