Camping World unsubscribe
If you have ever dealt with Camping World and established an account, then you probably started getting a lot of emails that you didn't necessarily want. Even after unsubscribing, they just keep coming. This was happening to me until I went into my account to see why. It turns out that when you establish an account, Camping World automatically signs you up for emails in about 50 different categories for everything from RV sales to life insurance to Good Sam Club. When you unsubscribe from an unwanted email, you are only unsubscribing from that one type of thing and you will still get emails from the other 49. The only way to stop the emails completely is to go into your account and manually uncheck all 50 blocks that they added to your account.

You've just gotta love companies that think they can improve their bottom line by forcing this kinda stuff on you.

Many companies do the same thing. You buy something, and then they keep pestering you with emails like you need to buy the same item again.

A few years ago when CW merged with Good Sams, my CW card became a Good Sams card. Thought "whatever" until I started receiving almost daily mailings offering all kinds of insurance and other RV related stuff. When I didn't respond to a special insurance offer, they sent me another and another and another for the same thing. Finally after noticing the editiorial page in the front of the CW mag, I noticed the email for contacting Marcus the CEO at CW. I sent Marcus an email screaming my negative feelings about all of this and what I felt about being ignored by my attempts to get all the mailings stopped. I told him I would cancel my CW/Sams account and never shop there again if the mailings didn't stop. He responded and they stopped. I still cancelled my account and have never shopped there again.

I’ve bought from CW a few times and was successful in unsubscribing. Guess I was lucky lol. Good luck

After attempting to unsubscribe, I have started to just mark the ones that come to me as junk and let the email filter help with some if it. I still get a few here and there, but at least it has slowed them down.

This is why I rarely give my email to any company when I buy something. Yes they always ask me and I always tell them "no thanks" or "I don't have one"
I've been thinking of creating an email with the handle "justcrap@..." Or something like that!

Blacklisting works too!
We have 2 e-mails. One we give to those we want to get e-mails from (family, friends, etc.....)
and one we give to everyone else. It's called out GARBAGE e-mail address.
It's on juno.

The reason companies do this is because it works. Everybody gripes and complains but the marketing is effective or companies wouldn't do it.
When we bought our camper the sales manager told us they were were going to "market the (heck) out of you."

Just for this reason, I set up a separate e-mail account for purchases I do in-store or online. Once I receive a e-mail confirmation on the order and shipping tracking numbers, I unsubscribe. All other e-mails are deleted unread. Just this morning, I had 144 messages in my inbox which I promptly deleted all without reading any of them. To me, its just a simple way to deal with this annoyance.

Been doing this since my AOL days. Although, once in a while I go over to the "OTHER" email account and empty it with a BIG smile.

We purchased our motorhome from CW. We had already been bombarded with "stuff" for years, because sometimes Camping World is where we are able to get what we need when we're on a trip. Believe me, AARP is just as aggravating!!! And our beloved L.L Bean is annoying as well.

Ever since the CEO of Camping World said he didn't want my business I have followed his advice. I no longer do any business with them. Sorry but I can find any item I need elsewhere.

We totally agree with you, Campingva. That stupid CW CEO has lost our business forever. Can't believe a CEO made that kind of a political statement that will affect the revenues of his company. No more CW for us.
Happy RVing,
Jeff
