Canopy lift question

My 10SD Pop-up has the motorized lift. Being a cautious person, I attempted to manually raise the canopy anticipating problems before they happen. I noticed that the direction to raise the canopy is CW. However, my motor is exactly opposite and raises CCW. Trying to lift the canopy manually, it is impossible to do. Has anyone got any advise or experienced this as well?

Hopefully someone with an electric lift can chime in here, mine was full manual. I would expect that the motor (or perhaps hand crank) has a reduction gear between the output shaft and the take-up drum for the cable, that would cause the motor to spin in the reverse direction. The drum would have to turn in the same direction regardless of how it was powered.

Thanks for the info. I've decided to take the camper to the Jayco Dealer in Woodstock, Ga.
after our trip in April.
