city water connection dilema

Hello i have a jayco baja and new to the trailer scene, does anyone know if when you are hooked up to the city water if it fills the tank or does it just go straight to your sink,shower? Because i thought it filled it but when i got home and went to drain the tank not a lot of water came out. Thanks

It does NOT fill the tank from that connector. There is a check valve to prevent that.

Something else you may want to do is get a pressure reducer for about $10 via amazon. High water pressure can cause unwanted damage.

Here is typical trailer water flow path. Of course my POPUP trailer only has the sink but this gives you an idea how the thing works...

The only way I can fill my fresh water tank is pour it in the fresh water inlet myself. Also not this is the only time you should be using the water pump. Its purpose to is pressure up the system when being fed by the fresh water tank. The city water port will pressure up your water system when you are hooked to it...
