Cold water inside Jayco Jay series 1007 pup

We just purchased this Jayco and I have very low cold water pressure inside the trailer. It trickles and then stops entirely. I noticed what looks like an inline filter. Are these known to slow water flow when they are older Or needing replacement ? Hot water flow is great and cold and hot are great on the shower. Thanks for your reply.

Filters definitely clog up and restrict with use, most are marked "Replace when flow diminishes". If it is under the sink it was probably installed so you had good drinking water, so definitely replace it.

Also, check the aerator on the end of the faucet. Remove it and see if the water still trickles. Clean it and it may help.

Being you have good hot water flow, I suspect it is your inline filter. They need to be replaced at least once a year. Most people remove the inside filter as they are hard to access. Instead they install a filter on the inlet or as they are filling the FW tank. It does not do anything for crude inside the tank. But you should also sanitize your FW tank and water lines once a year too.

Happy camping

If you don't have a replacement filter, you should see that there is a bypass hose mounted right beside the filter (at least our 1007 had one, and very similar vintage to yours). Just pull the filter and screw in the bypass instead to see if pressure improves. The filter bypass should be installed in the winter before winterizing, and a fresh filter installed every spring (although I might try to eek out a second year if usage has been very low).
