Unhappy converter vs battery

I have posted thread somewhere else in these forums can't find.
I have a 1988 Jayco 806 Deluxe and i am trying to repair the wiring that was removed and patched I have a refrig. and heater are these wired directly to the battery or do you go through the converter.
I'm a newbeeeee to the popup camper 3 years without the frig and heater.
got cold sometimes in Nov. here in Mich. Please help confused cold & hungry.

The output of the converter and the battery should meet at a fuse panel in the power box. All DC circuits should be fused, on an 88 that may be the old style glass tube fuses. If you have a 3 way switch labeled Battery/Off/Converter that would complicate matters. If you would list the make and model of your converter I might be able to add additional detail.
