Converter when towing / pop up not in use

Should I be powering the converter off when the pop up is not opened? Silly question maybe but I can't locate the answer anywhere.

The converter is only powered when you are hooked up to shore power.. it converts 120 to 12VDC

Many people do power the trailer when closed up in order to use the converter to charge the battery. Some mfgrs recommend against it. The concern would be overheating of the converter in a closed/confined space. I would say if the ambient temp is not too high and you don't have any gear piled up against the converter's front panel restricting airflow, you should be ok. But I would defer to the owner's manual for the final word.

My older model has a more primitive converter with only a 2-stage charger so I use a stand-alone 3-stage charger to charge my batteries.

Thanks! I did use this approach when I stored last winter in my garage. I would plug in for a few days every couple weeks to keep the battery up. I did make sure that there was ample free area in front of the converter.
