Fall excursion

Hi. I plan on taking a fall excursion in my jayco 1992 1006. I wish to use my furnace for those chilly mornings and nights. My question is, can I leave my furnace running all night...maybe set the heat to 64 degrees or so. I'm new to cold weather camping so I just want to make sure that's ok...to leave it running for hours on end. I assume it'll stop running when the inside temp hits 64 and will kick in again when it needs to. Also, will it suck up most of my propane in one night (a near full tank) or am I likely to get a few days heat out of her? Anybody got experience in this category...or tips for fall camping? Thanks for your input.

If you only have one battery you would not have enough amp draw for the whole night. When it is around 33F/0C I use every 3 days 20 lbs. propane.

We always do a late fall long weekend, and never had any issues in our old rockwood pop up. A full 20# tank will easily last 2-3 nights, and yes, just set the furnace at your preferred temp and let it run. Wind makes a huge difference in a pop up- the windier it is the more your furnace will have to run.

We have a small electric heater with a digital thermostat that we use instead of our propane heater when on AC power. Put my old cheapo with a mechanical thermostat in the garage.
The digital thermostat shows inside temp and has a 2 degree on off function so temp is much more comfortable.

I also have changed my mechanical LP gas furnace thermostat out for a digital with battery backup to do the same if off the grid.

If you keep the temp set on your LP furnace set as low as you can tolerate your battery should last overnight if fully charged. A 27 group or two batteries are even better.

Consider getting a voltmeter to check your battery status. If you have a 12 volt socket than you can plug it in there. Mine has a USB port so I can charge my phone. Amazon about 6 $
