I just sold my 97 1406. While in a similar situation as you are there are parts still available however most are not Jayco specific. Many parts are used by other manufacturers. My local dealer had some of the basics. If I needed something to match or replace I searched fleabay or jaycopartsdotcom or I went to the company direct.

Just a reminder that there are lockable and non-lockable clamps. If you don't need locking, it might effect the price.

The aluminum moldings are sold in 16' pieces. They're pretty flimsy when not secured to anything. They can bend easy. I had a roof leak and caught it quick enough. There was no rot to the wood strips. I removed some of the moldings cleaned the aluminum panels and installed 1" wide butyl tape. Then screwed the trim pieced back in the same holes. I didn't caulk the screw heads. Didn't need to. The screw gets sealed when it goes through the tape. Then I replaces the plastic cover strip. That comes in 25' roles. If you can get 1 1/4" tape that would squeeze out the edge of the trim and give another seal. Better in my opinion. Since I was only able to get 1" tape I caulked the aluminum trim to the aluminum panels with lap sealant. Everything looked clean and no leaks.

As you look around there are outlets, some areas have stores or lots etc. where you can get just about everything you need to repair/rebuild RV's. As for Jayco specific items... if your looking for graphics, or name plates you would have to scour a lot of web sites or contact Jayco specifically. When it comes to things like the latches, the molding, refrigerators, tanks, valves, stoves, toilets, light fixtures switches, water heaters aluminum siding, canvas material, etc., you will find throughout the RV industry there is very little that is trailer brand specific (i.e., Jayco refrigerator... nope not made, pretty much all of them are made by Norcold, or Dometic, etc.).
I have had fun refurbishing a few small trailers over the years. One of my favorites was my old Starcraft tent pop up. I took the old dry rotted (torn in many areas) canvas tent ends off and went to a local upholstery shop and commissioned new custom made canvas with double lining and insulated. I am sure you can see what I am getting at here. Your possibilities are endless.

In my limited experience, this is the first time I have seen that latches mounted that way. I wonder if there is advantage/disadvantage to your way?

We've had three, a StarCraft, Viking, and Fleetwood. Never seen them that way, but don't think it matters as long as they latch ok. Also, you really only need two locking latches, one on opposing corners. That may save a few bucks.

If the screw cover "molding" is not damaged why replace it when it will look brand new if it is cleaned instead?

JR Products provides much of the molding for the industry;

What i later found out...... was the plastic center section of the molding.... actually is replaceable with out removing the aluminum molding... i will order that.... i also want to clean and paint the top with bed liner spray.... prefferably White.... there is a guy on you tube that has already done this.... i dont know if my top leaks or not since i just bought it... but it doesnt look all that nice looking.... plus the guy on you tube says his will never leak now and he also removed the trim from the center and sides... cause the bed liner material covered all the gaps...

Most likely the screw cover molding is dried out. When he pulls it out even if it comes out in one piece, it will be much easier to install new cover that's more pliable. Much easier on the fingers too.

You can have a local sign shop supply you with the pinstriping. They can also print out the original Jayco decals if you or they can get the file
