JayCardinal 6 Cable Diagram

Working on my Daughter and Son in-laws 1992 Cardinal 6. The biggest problem is in the left front corner. It has 1 broken lift cable a severely bent lift spring, the radius channel has pulled loose and the other cables are twisted around each other. also, the rear of the roof does not lift evenly with the front. Is there a repair manual available for this model or at least a diagram of the lift mechanism? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

John

This site has some basic information

https://www.customcylindersintinc.co...f-lift-systems

Might get you started down the right path if you can identify what system you have.

This site also has several threads on the issue.

In that link 64osby posted look for the Jayco lift system. That's what they used in that trailer. We had a '93 1208.

That said before you do anything get under each corner and check the integrity of the plywood. The corner parts of the lift system are bolted to the floor. If the floor is rotted the bolts can pull through the floor causing the entire system to bind up. I learned how this works on a '72 Jayco pop-up that I never should have bought. I had to rebuild 2 rotted corners and restring the entire lift system.

Binding somewhere may have caused that cable to break so you will need to check the entire path the cable rides. As our '93 aged one of our cables got snagged in a lift pole.
