Jayco eagle roof replacement

Hello
I have a 2003 eagle 12 sd and the roof is completely destroyed. Rotted and caving in. does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the roof and if its possible to do it myself if cheaper? Thanks!

If the roof is completely destroyed then chances are other things below it like walls and floors are shot too. If it were me, I would sell it for parts or get what you can for it and invest that money in something better. Fixer upers can be MAJOR money pits and I would highly suggest not taking on a huge project/expense unless you know exactly what you're doing.

There are good deals to be found on trailers under 5 years old that are still in like-new condition.

Welcome to the forum. Others have done this and yes it would be much cheaper if you did it yourself provided you have the time and skills. I have no numbers but an entire new roof structure and membrane done by a dealer or RV repair shop would no doubt be pricey.

Our KZ JAG roof ended up like yours. First estimate came in at $8400 and that was assuming no damage in the walls. If they found more damage, it would cost even more to fix. As much as we loved the trailer, hard to justify that much money in a rig worth $9500. IF we fixed it, we would still have a rig worth $9500.

You might go to an RV dealer, ask about the roof and if the estimate is sky high, ask about what they will give you in trade on another unit on their lot. We received $7500 trade on the KZ with dealer knowing the roof wasn't in great shape.

I was kind of hoping to get rid of my camper for good and not trade in. I've been using pop ups with my family forever and I loved it but for a 22 year old it's a lot of work. Especially since the hail and rain destroyed the roof . But I can't find any estimates online on how much it will cost or how much it's with with the damage.

My mom wants to try and save it but I don't know how much life it has left. Canvas is fine and beds are fine as well. But the walls are a bit soft.

OK, I`m mistaken in my post as I thought it was an Eagle travel trailer but now I see it is a pop up. That may be an easier fix.

If it's insured for the damage I would take the money and run.

The damage was because of snow. Maybe it will be covered under home owners insurance ?
