Jayco Select 14HW roof

I have a Jayco Select 14HW (high wall)]. The front roof section that faces the tow vehicle. Not the top but the front face has a bracket underneath that has come loose from the wood. The screws have all come out, and I don't think they will reattach with just a screwdriver. Anybody ever modify or repair this issue? I'm not sure if it's a big problem or not, but it bothers me to see it.

Maybe the wood is rotted away due to moisture intrusion. I have a 2011 Jay Series Select HW with wood that is rotted, and screws won't hold. Wish I had an easy fix for you.

I had to drill through the roof and use a plate and some screws.
