Jayco Side Repair

I recently purchased a used 1207 jay series and was able to get a good price due to damage done by a dog to the front (door side) aluminum. The unit is in great shape except for this damage. Does anyone know where you can purchase the correct patterned aluminum sheeting to match existing body of the trailer? Is there any place that sells decals, pin-striping to keep the unit looking original?

It appears the side of your PUP is made of Filon it looks like the same material our PUP was made from.

Here is a website that may help you out.

http://www.cranecomposites.com/industries/rv.html

As far as the decals you could contact Jayco and see if they still have your decals. Another place is ebay there are several people who sell decals there or even a local sign company that can match and make them for you.

Good luck on your project.

When I took the door apart it appeared to be thin rolled aluminum sheeting it has the texture like refrigerator steel. The filon material looks nice though. Thanks.

bgriffi-- If all else fails you might try a super thin pce of alum diamond plate and it would match the front. Larry

I would think you should be able to order this panel from Jayco through a dealer. If you brought it to the dealer for repair I'm sure that what they would probably do. If they can get you the part chances are you could do the install. I wonder what an auto body repair shop could do with it? This is why we don't own a dog! Too many people we know of & hear of have had very expensive things destroyed by their lovable pets over the years. I like dogs when they belong to someone else!

I appreciate everyone's input. I was able to find the actual sheeting I just fear it would look funny with the rest of the trailer a little bit faded. I opted for the diamond plating both sides to keep the unit looking consistent I will install it this weekend. I will post a picture once done. Thanks

Look forward to seeing the before/after pics....., should look great. I've seen some PUP's with the DP sides and looks just fine.
