Jayco vs. Starcraft

Spent a couple hours at Colerain RV in Cincinnati today looking at their popups. They carry both Jayco and Starcraft. I know they are basically the same trailer, but the thing I am having a problem with is the warranty. Jayco has the best warranty in the biz while Starcraft's is one year. The salesperson tried to make it sound like it was no big deal. I like the Starcraft brand but when it comes down to it, the longer warranty sways me to Jayco.

Was the warranty a major factor in your decision on which brand to buy?

Thanks
BT

The warranty can be a big deal. If someone offers a longer warranty it stands to reason they believe they build a quality product.

I never could understand either why Jayco has 2 yr and SC 1 yr.

It's no different than Mitsubishi cars and SUV's. They offer a 10 year / 160,000 km warranty and dodge (who they share a couple of engines with) only offer a 5 year / 100,000 warranty.

Thats why I bought the Mitsubishi Outlander and thats also why I bought the Jayco Swift over the SC Air-One.

Good point. We bought a Hyundai Sonata over a Mazda 6 because of the warranty so there is precedent.

I think when all is said and done, we will end up with a Jayco.
