Lift System Assessment

What should I look for to determine the condition of the lift system?

Last year I opened up everything mainly to check out the interior and I didn't see any water then and the canvas was still in good shape, and there were no issues going up or down.

So, is there anything I can look at or is it just a matter of waiting till it doesn't work?

Inspection is always a good thing, you will notice problems on time. Prevention is better than being stuck on the road.
