Lift troubles

Hello All, I have a "new to me" '86 J series 806. It seems that one of the front corners is disconnected from the lift mechanism. I don't know if it's the cable or the flexible push rod. Can some one help me diagnose this problem and let me know how to access this part of the system.
Thank you for any help.

Here is some Jayco lift system info. http://www.popupportal.com/PUPmanual...ift_System.pdf
While it may not be exactly the same as yours, they are all very similar. Are you positive something is broke, or is one corner just not raising as high as the others?
You will need to remove panels, etc to access the system as it is all inside the camper. I would start by gaining access to the winch, from there you can tell if a cable is broken or just needs adjusted.

Thank you amabee,
Yup something's broken, or disconnected. The corner's easily lifted by hand, although it's heavy! I did find some info on repairing broken cables, etc... I'm going to cut 4 equal length 2x4"s to support the roof so I can get into it and track down the problem.

DSSpeck, Please be careful if you have to go underneath a heavy load that been jacked and supported. It sounds like you have a good idea of what you're doing so maybe this post isn't necessary.

As OnTheGo said, be careful, I actually replaced the main cable in an old Jayco popup. The 2X4's will certainly work, just make sure they are all wedged in tight.
Keep us updated on what you find.
