Smile More stuck

In my previous post I spoke about blowing a 5 amp fuse on my jayco 1992 pop up 1006 deluxe. My power cord from my pop up didnt reach the electrical outlet at the campsite so I added a 14 gauge outdoor extension extension cord to make the connection. Bad idea?. Could my extension cord be the wrong gauge for my popup's power? Thus causing a me to blow a fuse or trip the circuit? Lastly, if you trip the CGIF does a red light appear or should that be off? Does a red light mean to reset the CGIF?
