Need help installing a battery wiring

Hi everyone, I just bought a 1997 eagle 8 ST and it has a few things I need you help with. First is that the person I got it from took off the battery box and lost it. I got a new box and deep cycle battery but the hook up is puzzling me. Looks like I have two white wires and a black wire. The black has a 30 amp fuse in it. Is black positive on these trailers? Next thing is that the running lights work fine but the stop lights don't respond to turn signal or brake commands. They light up with the running lights and do nothing else. Where should I start looking to repair those? Thank you so much!

Your best bet is to go online and get an old copy of the owners manual.

Try this link.

Follow the white wire... one of them should go directly to the frame... that will be your (-) negative cable.

The thicker black wire should go back to an inline 30Amp fuse.. that will be your (+) positive cable.
