New 1207 - What is this button?

Hi,

I just picked up my new 2014 Jay Series 1207 last week. I am trying to get familiar with it and all the features. I find the instructions and dealer demo very lacking on details.

There is an On/Off button inside the camper beside a receptacle near the left bunk (when you enter the camper). I think it might be for the water pump because it is near the water tank. Can anyone tell me what the button is for?

If it is for the water pump, is it very bad if the kids turn it on when we are not using the water tanks?

Thanks,

Glen

On my 1006 that button is for the power to the roof. I have to hold that and the up button at the same time if not using the key fob

I have the 2 roof buttons just inside the door. The On/Off button I am inquiring about is right beside the left bunk. It is right beside a plug.

I just watched a Jayco Walkthrough video on Youtube and the switch is a water pump switch.

I am sure I will have more questions as I get familiar with the camper over the next few weeks.

Next thing to learn is the water heater.

Thanks!

You should not turn on the water pump if there's no water in the tank. I haven't done that but I think if you did it would just run continuously and possibly burn out the pump. If there is water in the tanks, you can just leave it on, no problem. But be sure to turn it off when you rig down. (Ours got turned on somehow as we were putting it away in the driveway, and I discovered it hours later by accident, just merrily humming away on empty tanks.) As a preventative now I remove the battery's inline fuse when storing the unit.
