New Popup camper here

Hi guys,

i bought a used 2007 Jayco Select 12HW last year and took her out camping twice last year. Im asking anyone who replaced this square tube to raised the roof of the camper, mine is flaring out and im having a hard time raising the roof.
I will search this forum for any info about replacing this tube, but if anyone had any experience replacing this tube, please let me know and will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray

Ray. That piece simply connects to the winch. You should be able to disconnect it from the winch and replace it. I would go to a metal shop show them what you have and have them make you a new one using heavier tubing.

Thank you!.............i ordered a replacement for this winch tube, now i just need to find how to access the winch. Im new to this and will slowly learn how everything works, one thing i learned is this camper is way too big for me and my wife.
Thanks

The access on my 1207 was under the front bench. The crank was front passenger side, and the winch was basically inside the corner under a piece of plywood that supported a seat cushion. When you find it, inspect the eyelets that’s connect to the cables. Mine were opening up, I replaced them with 5/16 eyelets and welded them shut.

I had the same problem on my Jayco PU. If you look inside the tube you will see a pin to prevent the handle from going in further. I removed that pin so the handle could go in further and have more surface area contact between the tube and the the crank handle. I wound up replacing the crank handle also, as the corners on in were getting rounded also.
