Partial roof raise - Help Needed

Hello everyone. I just picked up a 1998 Jayco Eagle 12 UD ST. First pop-up for the wife and I, though I grew up camping in a pop-up.

Anyways...the lady we got it from said that the last time they lowered it they had a hard time getting it down and her brother in law forced the one corner. We got it home today and began to set it up. As I cranked away the roof began to rise except for the right rear corner. Eventually it began to raise on its own, but it did not go fully up. I wound up bracing the corner with wood for now.

I'm looking for input on what could be the issue. Is it the cable? Roof support? How do I investigate to figure out whats wrong.

Wife and I are hoping to get the camper up and running by the end of the summer. With the exception on this issue, everything else on the trailer is good.

First thing I would try doing is lubing the lift arms.. and cables. they may be binding.

Welcome to the forum! I think I'd crawl around and do a thorough visual inspection of the lift cable system for broken, worn or binding components. Popups have been known to bounce around in ditches and stuff and there could be some damage especially on the rear corners...you mentioned the right rear corner which is on the ditch side.

Next I'd do as Seann says and make sure everything is lubed up good. Use some spray lube on the telescoping lift arms and good old grease on the cables.
