Patching tears

I need help, again. I have several tears in the canvas of my 12HW. I patchedthem about 3 weeks ago but the patches are already coming off. I used a top rated patch tape but for some reason it's not holding. The canvas was clean and dry when I put the patches on, well a friend put them on, but he did a great job, careful and very meticulous so I'm at a loss. Obviously I have to redo them but am hoping someone can help me find the best way and best product to use for this. If needed I can take some pictures so you can see the problem.

Thanks, Roux
Side note: Never, ever buy a popup in the rain and cold.
And always do your homework first. I did and didn't, but I like the beast so all will be well.

Several years ago we had to patch our popup canvas.

I glued a canvas patch on the inside. Then we worked together and pushed a needle back and forth through the wall to stitch it on permanently. (one of us inside, the other outside)

Then we went over the tear and stitched the two sides together through the patch.

Kept it for three more years of heavy use with no problems!
