Hi all.
I have a 2002 model, Penguin Outback 13 footer that I have owned since new. I am very pleased with this unit and it has served me well over the years, however time is starting to take its tole.
My problem relates to the front and rear plastic curtain track.
I should mention here that these plastic tracks (the lower edge there of) also act as the receiver into which the top edge of the canvas curtain/tent clip into. So far this facet has not given me any trouble, the problem is only with the curtain tracks.
Back to the problem.Over time these plastic tracks have sagged between the screw points and the grooves in which the curtain slugs travel have been pulled out of shape allowing the slugs to fall out.
And whats more of a problem, these tracks are screwed into place at the very edge of the plastic flap that incorporates the track. Over time a number of these screws have also broken the plastic securing flap away leaving only the screw and allowing the plastic track to be pulled away which in turn caused the track distortion.
These track screws when screwed into place are simply screwed into the soft roof liner using self tappers and because of this they are prone to either being pulled out and/or easily stripped if over tightened........ Between a rock and a hard place here.
My question now is, has anyone else had this problem, if so how did you over come it?
Regards
