Popup rebuild

Hello Everyone!
So I am starting an ambitious project. I am rebuilding my popup to a degree. I am rebuilding the roof, ordered new canvas, purchased new water heater, repaint...and so on. I will post plenty of pics and videos. Any advice as I go along would be appreciated.

I am working with a 1992 Jayco Cardinal deluxe 8 twin axle. Paid only a little over $400 a couple years ago and have used it half dozen times. I already replaced all the roof cables and am continuing forward.

Stay Tuned!!!!

You mentioned that you’ve already dealt with the cables, I would make sure you weld the eyelids closed and upgrade them to 5/16 from 1/4”. Take lots of before pictures those will help you when you’re putting stuff back together and you’re trying to figure out why it won’t work. Ask me how I know? I would put insulation on the floor, and check for sharp edges that could tear the new canvas.

We bought an old one and the two most helpful projects were replacement of the tires and the foam cushions. In the process my wife just made new ones as the fabric was old and smelly (mold, mildew or whatever, just kind of unpleasant) That made sleeping better as the old foam was shot anyway.
